I’m at work having (another) tea break and thought I would do a bit of blogging, work is pretty slow today and to be honest I am getting all geared up for my holdays. I work on an IT helpdesk so I have to make sure I have all my calls cleared before I leave, I get my stuff done so it won’t be a problem, but work as a whole isn’t great, maybe its just me wanting to get holiday, maybe it isn’t.

I had to do some family technichal support yesterday, my poor nan has a dell computer and its knackered! Talking to guys at work we believe the motherboard has gone, if we get a chance we’ll bring it and try and fix it.

Good to see the Arsenal win last night, thats 4 in a row now and it was a really entertaining game, shame to see Gallas get injured but hopefully he’ll be back soon.

Anyway, back to the hell hole…..

Another Good Win

William GallasTwo wins in a row now has really got the confidence up at Arsenal. It took us an hour to get over Sheffield Utd but we ended up winning well, William Gallas got his first goal for the club then an own goal and TH getting a third, Man Utd drew with a resillient Reading, Chelsea won 2-0, Liverpool won 3-0.

Henry didn’t do an awful lot in the first half but made all the difference in the second and we could have scored more, we can still be happy though!

Next up is a tricky game against Porto, but we’ll be in a confident frame of mind and hopefully we will pick up three points.

The Subways

We’re off to see The Subways tonight at the Shepards Bush empire, we’ve been really looking forward to seeing them as they cancelled this show back in April due to illness, will post a review tomorrow morning…

The Day After

What a night! We arrived at the Shepards Bush Empire tto loads of ticket touts and big queues and the atmosphere was good, I felt a bit old as there were quite a few people that looked about 12!

We had really good seats, right on the edge of level two so that we could both just lean on the edge :). The First band up were The Dodgems, wasn’t particually impressed by them and their set was pretty forgetful, Second up were Larrikin Love, who had a lead singer that looked like Rupert Grinch from Harry Potter, but they were really good and I’ll probably look to get their CD at some point.

The Subways Then it was time for the main event, the gig was a long time coming with Billy’s illness and it was well worth the wait. They were brilliant, playing all the classics as well as some new stuff too. There was some excellent stage dives escpecially the last one from one level up!

There are still tickets available for tonights show. If you get a chance go!

My Intresting Fact about The Subways:

The band postponed touring in April 2006 because Billy has nodules on his vocal chords. They played a “secret” gig in The Green Room in their home town of Welwyn Garden City on Friday June 16, under the alias of The Audrey Hepburns

We’re both knackered today and I can’t wait to get home

Free Paper War

It’s two weeks now since the Free Paper war in London Started, on one hand you have Standard Lite, and on the other you have thelondonpaper but which is better?

Standard Lite

Let’s face it this one is a bit trashy, I wasn’t keen on it especially and reading it for longer just confirmed my feelings, its not very good really and to be honest since I picked up the first edition I haven’t bothered again..

The Website is just as bad and will do my best to avoid it, in fact I have never liked that site!

thelondonpaper

This is the better out of the two its presented nicely and the website compliments the paper well. I can actually read this paper through without getting too bored, It lasts me my train journey home and that’s all that really matters with these papers. Considering the Evening Standard has gone up to 50p now as well anything you can get for free is a good thing!

Saints Row…

It took a massive amount of thought, (yes even I think!) as to what my next game purchase would be. Saint’s Row or Dead Rising? I had both the Demos and was heading for Dead Rising until I found out it doesn’t have multiplayer!

200px-saints_row.jpgSo I went for the Row, after playing it for 6 hours here are my thoughts:

This game is a lot of fun, it has it’s glitches but I am sure these will get ironed out soon it doesn’t stop me enjoying the game, it is like GTA but with all the bad bits improved. there are some fun missions, like the insurance fraud activites where you throw yourself in front of cars to claim a certain amount of insurance money!

You can customise your character and take them online with you. You can pimp your ride, (more USA than UK) and there are loads of different cars to play around with. Online has some really clever modes but no free roam which is a bit rubbish and currently most games are really laggy but as I said before there may be a patch on the way.
