So we have finally arrived in Singapore, it’s nearly midnight here so we are off to bed soon, its so Humid here and it’s about 27C at the mo! Sorry if the blog doesn’t look quite right at the moment I think I have broken it a bit but will sort it out when we get back. Will put some more info on tomorrow. Night!
They’ve done it! Hugh and Eliza are now Mr and Mrs Radford, we had a lovely day yesterday in a beautiful setting. We partied long into the night and have just about recovered, we’ve just uploaded the photos at our friends house in Sydney. It’s our last night in Australia, as we are off to Singapore tomorrow afternoon for the last leg of our Big Trip. We cannot believe that we only have a few days left!
Here is the link to the wedding photos from last night. you will also see that we have uploaded some photos from the whole trip as well, there are loads more to come! Right, off to the airport!
It’s Hugh Stag Night tonight, so its not long until the wedding now. We are going out in Cental Sydney and we have no idea what is in store for him!
Coogee
We are staying at Coogee Beach at the moment, and today we did a 10k walk from Coogee to Bondi Beach. It wasn’t too bad except there are so many flies at the moment which is really annoying, its just because it is humid though. We are well over the halfway stage of the Holiday now and I can’t belive its less than two weeks before we are back at work… More news about the stag tomorrow ![]()
The Next Morning
I wasn’t out all night and feel pretty bad today so I can’t imagine how Hugh is feeling! Haven’t spoken to him, but we will meet up again tomorrow for the trip up to Hunter Valley.
Well not really, but we were really looking forward to today, our offical Neighbours tour! We wrere told at the start that we wouldn’t be able to see much of the street because they were filming, but that we would go there anyway.
Our drive down there had us watching lots of classic music videos of past stars. Our first stop was the school used as Erinsborough High for our first cheesy photo opportunity. Secondly it was off to the actual studios, our guide chanced it by going in, when all of a sudden Dr. Karl Jumped on our bus! We were taken round to the Carpenters Cars and Grease Monkeys where we got have photos and a chat with the man himself, once that was over it was back on the bus to Ramsay Street.
Once we arrived there you could see how small the street actually was (there were only 6 houses) and again by chance in groups of about six we were allowed to walk up the street and see the houses and have our last photos with the Ramsay Street sign. The guide gave us some spoilers and some inside info and then took us back to city whilst we watched classic epiosodes….
Tonight is our final night in Melbourne, we really like it here nd if we had known we would have mayve stayed for a couple of more days. It’s back to Sydney tomorrow for our days by the beach which will be really nice. I’m sure Hugh is getting all nervous now…..
We’ve had three brilliant days in Sydney - our hotel was fantastic and made a nice change from hostels ![]()
We went shoppin on Oxford Street and then to Manly on Thursday - paddled in the sea - it was a bit warmer than at home! Yesterday we went to the zoo and had our picture taken with some really grumpy Koalas - We are just at the airport now and willbe boarding our flight to Melbourne in about 10 mins, hopefully we’ll be able to do a bigger update from there….
The Next Morning…
We eventually found hotel, it turns out that there are two streets that have the same name very close by! We ended up at the wrong one, but our very nice cab driver helped us get to the right place! It’s a nice hotel and we have just had breakfast, we are off out shopping today, much to A’s delight ;). We are most excited about tomorrow as we are off on the Neighbours tour! We have booked on the special tour where you get to meet one of the cast and you also recieve a special souveneir. We reckon we’ll end up meeting someine very random but hopefully it will be someone we recognise!
The sun has finally come back which is typical as we are leaving in about an hour! We finally got to see a little bit of the scenery yesterday - the mists leared long enough for us to find a waterfall and lots of trees but by the time we got to the Three Sisters they had vanished again!
We’re heading back to Sydney this morning and are planning to visit Manly and the Zoo amongst other things (oh yes, and I’m going to drag Dave off for a day of shopping on Oxford Street
)
We head to Melbourne on Saturday and are really looking forward to visiting the Neighbours set! We want to meet Harold and Dr Karl … and Sky (well, D wants to meet Sky… can’t think why?!)
The Blue mountains has lots of lovely cafes and restaurants, the people are very friendly and our hostel is quality, but the weather is minging! You wouldn’t actually know that there were mountains here! We are still having a really nice time though and there are lots of things to keep us entertained, like the Internet, pool tables and now wine ![]()
Hello Dad if you ever actually find the blog! Also this is where we are currently staying in the Blue Mountains, we’ll blog more about the posh hotel we are staying at in Sydney tomorrow
We’ve just arrived at the Blue mountains and its really nice. We are staying at the YHA in Katoomba, we’re very impressed, especially as we have just filled our bellies with some lovely food ![]()
Katoomba has lots of orignal buildings from the 1930’s and it makes the area look really nice, we are off out soon to do a bit of sightseeing so we’ll add some more to this later.
G’day! We are into our second day in Sydney, it’s currently 36C! We are staying in a hostel near Central Station, a bit different to tokyo but still nice. We have two more nights here and then it is off to the Blue Mountains for 3 nights.
We had a bit of an adventure getting here from the airport, we were hussled into the first bus that was there and it was a n absolute deathtrap! We survived and are still here to tell the tale ![]()
We saw the bridge and opera house at sunset last night and had dinner in a pizza place with a view of the harbour - very nice and we got to catch up on Neighbours while we ate!
Probably won’t get too many chances to upload photos, but we will still be able to check the site out and both of our mobiles work so you will be able to text us.
p.s. does anyone remember Brad from Neighbours - he’s working on reception here!!
What happens when you mix Tokyo and Disney? Absolute madness! Despite this A and I made the 45 minute journey accross the city to experience it all. One piece of advice, buy your tickets in advance, we ended up having to wait over an hour to get in. We have sunburn as proof!
Once we had something to eat we decided to try and get on some rides, for most of the big ones you had to wait up to 3 hours, not something we wanted to do, so we opted for the teacups, two simulators and two shows, we also got to see the Halloween parade as well.
We had a really good time, it was just a shame we couldn’t get on all the rides, we think its half term as well over here because it was absolutely packed! This is our last night here as we head off to Sydney tomorrow. Tokyo has been brilliant, we would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone who has ever thought about coming. We are going to do a little bit of shopping tomorrow morning before heading off to the airport.
This was a band that had just started playing as we entered the main shopping area of Disney, they were really good and I was very lucky to get this photo….
