xBox 360 Elite

360 EliteThe rumours were true, MS will be releasing a black version of the xBox 360 with some differences..

The Xbox 360 Elite console, plus wireless controller and Xbox Live headset are all presented in a premium black finish with signature metallic detailing (growl). Also in the box will be an Xbox 360 HDMI cable to make sure you are all set for HD nirvana.

The main difference for the current 360 users is the new 120 Gig Hard Disk, its going to cost $179 Dollars which is a lot and to be honest users who don’t get the video marketplace will not miss out on much. I still have 8 Gig at least left and won’t be upgrading for a while. The new colour is cool but I do like the white box as it is.

Gamerscore

Almost there! After completing the main storyline on Splinter Cell Double agent I am over the 9000 mark and am now on 9230, still got a little bit to go but will easily do it by November, I might even have to up the ante…

My Lunchtime walk….

Walk
St. Paul’s > Fleet Street > Covent Garden > TCR

Since the weather has been better I decided to go out and see a bit of London during my lunch. I hadn’t been to St. Paul’s in ages so thought it would nice to go down there, two stops on the central line and I was in the city of London, sweet!

Picture 006 I got some interesting pictures including this one. Its nothing special but i had to crouch right down to get it. Once I had taken it there were three or four people behind me waiting to copy me, tourists! I then headed down to fleet street where there are some great pubs and some interesting street names too, but more on that another time.

I have decided on a new project which I will start work on when I return from Barcelona.

Worth Camping for?

PS3Yes would be the answer, we were all laughing at the “Mad” people queuing for the PS3 Launch @ Virgin Megastore on Oxford Street. Seems that the joke was on us:

Sony, obviously in a generous mood, gave the first 100 customers to purchase a £425 ($834 USD) PS3 a free 46″ HDTV and a free taxi ride home. In all, Sony gave away over £250,000 ($490,450 USD) in HDTVs to accompany the PS3 launch. The free taxi ride was most likely a nod to the fact that many customers who showed up to purchase a PS3 might not have exactly had enough room to transport a 46″ HDTV back to their homes.

D’oh!

Sorting out Flickr

I love flickr and finally they have made some cool changes, though it has caused me a bit of problem, I now have to start getting organised! They have introduced something called Flickr Collections‘Collections’. These allow you to hold lots of different sets under a collection which is great.

But, I have a set called London with all my great London Photos in, plus lots of other photo sets that have lots of London in them so now I have to recreate loads of new sets and seperate everything out.

I’ll then have to go through all of the other 2000 photos and get them sorted to!

Once you’ve made some collections, It only makes sense for you to choose what you want to appear in the right column of the Your Photos page: sets or collections. So there is a layout preference for that. In addition, the layout setting lets you choose to display the standard small sized images, or, if you’re feeling crazy, 5 medium sized images. It looks quite coll whichever  way you choose to have you page. There will be some more changes in the future too, looking forward to them……

Red Nose Day

Bloggers publish book for Comic Relief.

Shaggy Blog Stories100 bloggers have published a book to raise funds of the BBC’s Comic Relief appeal on Friday 16th March.

‘Shaggy Blog Stories’ features hilarious contributions from Richard Herring of ‘Fist of Fun’ fame, BBC 6Music presenter Andrew Collins, comedian Emma Kennedy, and James Henry, scriptwriter from Channel Four’s ‘The Green Wing’.

Authors Abby Lee, David Belbin, Catherine Sanderson and The Guardian’s Anna Pickard have also contributed pieces to the book.

The vast majority of contributions, however, are the work of many of the lesser known and unfamiliar heroes of British blogging; going under pen names such as Diamond Geezer, Scaryduck, Pandemian and Unreliable Witness.

March 16th The book is the idea of blogger Mike Atkinson who writes the ‘Troubled Diva’ weblog. ‘Shaggy Blog Stories’ features comic writing from not only the cream of British blogging, but also the best up-and-coming and undiscovered writers publishing their work on their own websites.

Giving himself a “ridiculously short” seven days from idea to finished product, Atkinson admitted that he was overwhelmed with the response, which gleaned over 300 submissions for publication.

With a pool of talented writers, and the latest publishing-on-demand technology, Shaggy Blog Stories bypasses the usual snail-paced publishing industry, and offers a mail order service to customers who will receive their finished copy within days of placing their order, and only a couple of weeks after the original idea.

“Blogging creates complex, worldwide networks of friendship and contacts on the internet”, says journalist Alistair Coleman, one of Shaggy Blog Stories’ contributors. “By creating a buzz about this book, we can reach out to hundreds, thousands of readers who’d be willing to part with a few quid for this very good cause. Mike’s got some excellent writers on board here whose work deserves a wider audience. Everybody wins.”

For details of how to order the book, visit www.shaggyblogstories.co.uk.

Arsenal 1 - Man Utd 0

FA Youth Cup Semi-Final 1st Leg
A record FA Youth Cup crowd of 38,187 spurred Arsenal Under-18s to a 1-0 Semi-Final first-leg victory over Manchester United at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.

An emphatic strike from Kieran Gibbs 14 minutes after the interval gave the young Gunners every chance of reaching the Final of the competition for the first time in six years.

Looks like he score, but he didn't! I went down to the Emirates to see the game it was a good match, the first half was quite slow as you could see the two teams trying to work each other out but the second half was much better. Its a shame that some of the kids at the match ruined it for the rest of us though by throwing Tennis Balls on to the pitch and then at full time running on to the pitch, hopefully it won’t stop Arsenal from doing this again.

Meanwhile the senior team scraped a 1-0 victory at Aston Villa

VPI’ve picked up a couple of xBox games recently, Viva Pinata and Rainbow Six Vegas which are both good, I play RV more and A is well and truly addicted to VP! As we speak she is trying to get Horstacio (Left) into her garden, she is pretty good at the game, shame we only have one xBox though because I can’t get her off it now!

I also bought the Live Vision Camera, which allows you to add your face into R6V, it comes out quite well, will post a picutre up soon.

My Gamerscore is looking real healthy, at 8700 now so I should get the next 1300 pretty soon. Crackdown is proving to be a great game which is really fun, I must do some co-op on that soon….

I’ve also just played the new UEFA CL demo, its still too much like the other FIFAs but I have to say that the audio is amazing, authentic Arsenal chants and the commentary is superb too, definitely a game worth renting.

Big Game Tonight…

HenryIt’s make or break for the Arsenal tonight, lose this and 4th place is all we can go for. Henry is is et to play, despite not training for the past two weeks

Wenger says:

“It is vital [Thierry plays] because he can score us a goal at any minute,” said the manager. “But he has a psychological impact on the opponent as well. Therefore I am very happy that I have him available.”

While Freddie believes we need to be Patient & Ruthless. There is no reason why we cannot win tonight, and hopefully we will.

Liverpool did well last night and I am glad Barca are out, we have more chance of beating them anyway. Chelsea were lucky, and I am sure Utd will go throught tonight as well. In terms of other Football, we play Manchester Utd in the FA Youth Cup on the 14th and if you book in advance tickets only cost £3 - More Info
