Big Noise

So the housemates are in, and they are all women!! This should make things intresting until tomorrow night when 1 bloke goes in, this could be heaven (or hell) for this bloke but we’ll have to wait and see.

The Housmates

The first housemates to enter the house were 18-year-old twins Amanda and Sam who were booed. They were followed by 60-year-old Lesley, a member of the Women’s Institute and a retired head-hunter

The next housemate, Charley, 21who is the cousin of footballer Kieran Richardson, was also booed as she entered the house. Pink-haired Tracey from Cambridgeshire claims she has collected carrier bags for 30 years and has never used a computer.

Student Chanelle, 19, admits to modelling herself on Victoria Beckham. Shabnam, 22, describes herself as “full of life, vivacious, nuts, passionate, inimitable and striking”. Others included 19-year-old Emily from Bristol who is a Tory voter and considers herself right-wing. Laura, 23, a nanny from South Wales was cheered as she blew the crowd kisses and gave high-fives to those waiting behind the barriers.

LauraThe ninth housemate to enter the house was Nicky from Watford.
The 27-year-old was born in Mumbai, India and adopted at the age of one. Her pet hates are “spongers, scroungers and nose-picking”. The final housemate to go in was 53-year-old Carole. The born and bred Londoner got the loudest cheer of the evening./p>

I have to Say Laura is my favourite at the moment, mainly because she looks like Peter Kay!

Big Brother is Back

bb.jpg

Every year I manged to end up doing this! Big Brother is back with a whole new set of freaks, the house has been redesigned the rumours have already started about who is going in to the house and Channel 4 need to apologise about the Racism row, it all seems to be going on in the forums on the Channel 4 website, I just had a quick look, there are over 2000 people on there as I write this!

No doubt there will be some controversy this year, (how will they deal with the Smoking ban on Jult 1st?) and despite people saying they won’t be watching it they will be, it will be all over the papers for reason or another, let the games begin….

New Job and more….

So I have started my new job and so far things are going well, it’s nice to be away from the old job and starting a fresh, this now means deciding what I am goin to be doing over the next few years. It’s my final ceremony today for a Mentoring scheme that I have taken part in for the past three years, I’m not sure if it is something I am going to do next year but I will wait and see.

Well done to Gavin Dunn, Peter Thompson and David Staiano for finishing their 130 mile row and rasing lots of money in the process, don’t forget you can still donate through their Justgiving page.

Did you see the Champions League Final Last night? Liverpool just had one of those nights, I don’t really feel sorry for them as we had to suffer the same fate last year. We are at that point in the season where the papers are going to be full of reports about Henry leaving, probably Cesc as well!

Favourite Photos #1

April 20th
Camera: Canon EOS 400D Digital
Exposure: 0.077 sec (1/13)
Aperture: f/4
Focal Length: 28 mm
ISO Speed: 400

This is one of my best photos, taken last week at Horseguards Parade, I managed to catch a moment where the guard wasn’t surrounded by tourists snapping away, I had tried this earlier on in the year with my Point and Shoot and had to rush, but this time I used my SLR and had a bit more time.

The May 2007 Dashboard update has now been officially released and is in process of being rolled out across the LIVE service.

In addition to the LIVE Messenger integration feature in the new Dashboard, you’ll also see:

  • New achievement pop-up with name and score value
  • New Marketplace blade places content all in one place
  • Friends playing now feature at Xbox LIVE Arcade
  • Console can be set to turn off after downloads to save energy.

Typically I am at work whilst this is happening so I’ll have to wait until I get back to see what its like, will probably post a review. If anyone already has it and has their own views I’d be intrested to hear what people think.

On the service Desk

Here I am sitting on IT departments wonderful new IT Service Desk, I’m the only one in so I have to cover the whole department until the others come back from their meeting, normally I would be there but as I have managed the Great Escape and Will be leaving on the 18th May there is no need for me to go. Suits me fine, as long as the desk is quiet!

We got the proofs for our wedding inviations on Wednesday night and we are really happy with them, now its a matter of me getting all my addreses together for the big send out!

Why I hate Vista..

Two Posts today as this is just in my mind. I helped my Dad by a laptop and get him on t’internet which has all been great, the only problem is that his machine is running Windows Vista. We got everything working and he is happily on the internet but to do the most simple thing is really difficult… Shutting the machine down!!

In Windows XP it is simple…

Shutting down XP

But in Vista…..

Shutting Vista Down

Why make it so awkward? Grrr….

At the weekend I picked this up for £29 at HMV. I had always toyed with getting this game but there were other things I wanted first.

I am glad I picked this game up, it has a really challenging campaign mode and the online MP is brilliant fun. The Storyline starts of fairly simply, in the future, the humans decide to colonise a hostile frozen planet (called E.D.N. III) inhabited by giant insect-like creatures called the Akrid. Cunningly, the Akrid house precious thermal energy (T-ENG) within their bodies, and the humans soon realise that they can utilise this energy resource to help them survive the sub-zero temperatures. Simple plan? Shoot Akrid, harvest the thermal orange ooze, stay alive.

You play a character called Wayne who father was killed taking on Green Eye a massive Akrid, and he is on a revenge mission to take the Akrid out. The Levels are very linear so you always know exactly what you are doing. Once you have worked out the weak spots of the AKrid they are fairly easy to kill, even on hard mode. The Boss are quite difficult but again its just a matter of having a plan of attack.

Lost Planet

Mulitplayer is great fun too, I can’t decide whether it is better than Gear of War, though with the recent patching of the GoW its been a bit spoilt anyway. There is a massive amount of weapons as well and there are also VS (Vital Suits) which are essentially Mechs which you can customize with different guns. There are lots of maps plus four more are available to buy online. There are some lag issues sometimes but nothing to spoil your game. There are 4 modes which are all good fun to play.

Graphically the game is brilliant, its not as good as GoW (but then most games won’t be) explosions look fantastic and the cutscenes look cool too. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone as it is really good fun.
