As the title says, there will be no Spring Update on the xbox 360. Next-Gen.biz had an exclusive interview with Marc Whitten, General Manager of xBox Live, on changes to service. The reasons for not having an update was so resources could be used for “building the proper infrastructure and scale for the service.”
There is going to a change to DRM policy and a tool released next month that will allow 360 owners to re-license content to a single console. At least that will help those gamers who are having problems with their content.
Whitten also spoke about some Arcade titles that have a low Metacritic average and have sold in very small quantities being de-listed, “The way it will work is that the title will need to be at least 6 months old and have a Metacritic score below 65 and a conversion rate below 6 percent on the service.” (In other words, if fewer than 6 percent of people who downloaded the demo have bought it.) “We will also give a three-month notice before delisting any title.”
Hopefully when an update does come it will worth the wait, there are still some things I would like to see (like speeding up the dashboard), but we will have to wait and see
I’ve just found this fantastic theme for Wordpress, and have decided to replace my old theme based on K2, everything appears to be working but bear with me whilst I make some more changes to the site…
Update: It’s starting to get there now, there are still things that need sorting out, like missing pictures etc, plus there are a few things I want to get onto the site….
It was one of the biggest games last year, and hopefully I’ll get a chance to play the new version when it’s released later on this year. Game designer Cliffy B shows off the first scenes of Gears of War 2 gameplay, it looks brilliant!!
