40k

So I reached 40,000 gamerscore in the last week. I wrote about hitting 30,000 in February, so it’s taken me 6 months to go up another 10,000 points. That seems like a really long time, will it take that long for my next 10k? Probably longer, especially with certain games coming out!!

In my last post I wrote about how I had loads of games that I had started and needed to really get some points out of them, below are the totals from back in February and next to them are as of today.

  • Tiger Woods 09 125 / 1000
  • Fallout 3 250 / 1100
  • Prince of Persia 90 / 1000
  • Left 4 Dead 360 / 1000
  • Dead Space 0 / 1000
  • Skate 60 / 1000
  • UCL 2006-07 360 / 1000
  • Gears of War 2 265 / 1175
  • Tomb Raider Underworld 125 / 1000

Game Completion % – 48.3

  • Tiger Woods 09 710 / 1000
  • Fallout 3 750 / 1550
  • Prince of Persia 280 / 1250
  • Left 4 Dead 405 / 1000
  • Dead Space 690 / 1000
  • Skate 875 / 1000
  • UCL 2006-07 360 / 1000
  • Gears of War 2 455 / 1750
  • Tomb Raider Underworld 795 / 1250

Game Completion % – 46.4

As you can see, I’ve got a good few points from each of the games, but my completion percentage has gone down because, I’ve added 14 more games to my played list, you can see a full break down here.

Gaming Highlights…

I’ve played some great games over the past 6 months but these have been my favourites:

Battlefield 1943:  What a great game that is, amazing graphics for an arcade title, plus great action especially when you get together with a squad of 4 friends.

Red Faction Guerrilla:  This is a game I really enjoyed, you can see more in my review.

Dead Space: It took a while before I picked this one up, but I am so glad I did. A brilliant Survival horror game. Here’s my review if it takes your fancy.

Plenty more to get…

I still have a massve list of games to get me through (let alone the HUGE amount of games on my wish list!) to 50k, but I get the feeling it will take a bit longer to get there this time. With games like Modern Warfare 2 I see my self putting in quite a bit of time into multiplayer (who could blame me?).

What are you current gamerscore targets? What are your Gaming highlights from the past 6 months?

  • Congrats, that's quite an accomplishment.

Personally though I've long stopped caring about achievement points when I realised I was starting to play for achievements in my games rather than trying to enjoy them.

It really works if you just scoop them up as you play normally, I try not to peek at what getting them involves now to bring some of the surprise back, I used to be addicted to finding the fastest way to tick all the boxes.

    Thanks Michelle,

I'm not really bothered about how many points I have, with all the stats packages around I find it interesting to see how my score has come together.

Picking up achievements randomly is the best and that's how I try to play, and when I feel like it (or if I have time) I'll go back and see if I can pick up some extra G's

Congrats Dave, that's a great effort.

I'm currently hovering around the 27k mark myself, which is a consistent climb but I have been playing a lot of some of the games I really love at the moment. Like yourself Battlefield 1943 I've sunk a lot of hours into as well as the recent Trials HD, both top arcade titles.

Other games I've been playing include Tomb Raider Underworld, Left 4 Dead and Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. Skate 2 I recently completed 100%, all 1500G including the downloadable content which I truly loved.

I'm currently playing Batman: Arkham Asylum and am really looking forward to Dirt 2, Forza 3, MW2, L4D2, Assassins Creed 2, Lego Indiana Jones 2 and Bioshock 2.. all before the holiday season concludes. Roll on 30k for me. :)

I've just picked up Trials HD, that game is immense for an arcade title, but so frustrating!

1500gs on Skate 2 is impressive, that's sitting in my pile waiting to be played.

I'm desperate to get Batman but my bank account tells me I have to wait, plus FIFA 10 is out at the start of October and as you point out the list goes on!
